About Me

Hi, I’m Gemma, a fertility coach who truly gets what you’re going through!

I’ve been on my own fertility journey since 2020, facing dual factor infertility, multiple rounds of IVF, and the heartbreak of miscarriage…and I’m still waiting for our baby. Along the way, I’ve seen firsthand how little emotional and practical support is available for people navigating different paths, whether you’re just starting to try or have been trying for years.

Before becoming a certified life coach, I worked in support roles throughout my career (mainly in education), helping others navigate challenges and achieve their goals. This experience, combined with my own journey, inspired me to launch my fertility coaching practice, Elara.

My mission is to empower and support those navigating infertility and IVF through compassionate coaching and education. I help clients build a positive mindset, set clear goals, feel informed, and prepare mentally for treatment, promoting confidence, resilience, and hope for the future.

My Fertility Journey

I’ve always been open about my fertility journey. I have endometriosis and adenomyosis, and through IVF, I discovered I also have poor egg quality. My husband has azoospermia. We’ve been trying to conceive since 2020 and began our NHS IVF journey in January 2024.

Our first two rounds of IVF each gave us one low-quality embryo each round, and sadly, both failed to implant. For our last NHS-funded IVF round, we wanted to give it our everything. During a difficult time with family illnesses, we focused on preparing as much as possible: we worked with a counsellor and life coach, started reflexology, consulted a nutritionist, and cultivated a positive mindset going into the cycle.

It was our best round yet - we had two top-quality embryos, transferred one, and froze the other. The transfer initially seemed successful, but we experienced a missed miscarriage at 8 weeks in December 2024.

At the moment, we’ve spent a lot of time waiting, but we’re preparing for our frozen embryo transfer and remain hopeful for the future.

Through my experiences (the highs, the lows, and everything in between), I’ve learned how important preparation, mindset, and support can be. I know firsthand how overwhelming infertility can feel, and I hope that by sharing my journey, I can help others feel less alone and more equipped to navigate theirs.
